Tramadol Side Effects
Tramadol is a narcotic pain reliever most often prescribed for those with chronic pain. Classified as an analgesic, it has been used for pain treatment since the 1970's. Tramadol is a unique medication because it has both opoid and non opoid properties. It also has some antidepressant abilities because inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin into the system which can effect mood.
Some people who have taken tramadol have experienced side effects such as dizziness and weakness, nausea and vomiting, sleeplessness and blurred vision. Flushing of the skin and loss of appetite have also been experience by those who have used tramadol.
More serious side effects occur, most often as a result of an overdose. These types of side effects include shallow breathing and possibly a weak pulse. Tramadol can cause a red body rash as a reaction to the medication. Other serious side effects include agitation and hallucinations, fever and fast heart rate, jumpiness or jitters, diarrhea, loss of coordination and fainting. More seriously, death can occur if an overdose of the drug are taken.
